<p style="text-align: justify;">The relevance. There is a lack of information in the scientific literature about predictors of professional burnout among schoolteachers. This complicates psychological work to prevent and overcome professional burnout syndrome, which is a consequence of significant physical and psychological overload among modern teachers. The aim. To identify the most significant personal factors of professional burnout among schoolteachers. Study design. The article analyzes the relationship between the professional burnout of schoolteachers and such personal factors as the professional motivation of teachers, their meaningful life orientations, strategies for coping behavior, satisfaction with various aspects of pedagogical activity. Materials and methods. The study involved 409 teachers of secondary schools in Moscow and the Moscow region aged 23 to 65 years. The following questionnaires were used: «Professional Burnout» questionnaire, «Life Orientations Test», «Job Satisfaction Components Questionnaire», «Coping Methods Questionnaire», «Professional Motivation Questionnaire». Data analysis was carried out using correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results. It is shown that the socio-psychological qualities of the individual, necessary for building the pedagogical interaction of the teacher with other participants in educational relations, primarily with the parents of students, are of high importance for reducing the risk of professional burnout. The most significant personal factors that are predictors of professional burnout among schoolteachers with different indicators of burnout have been identified (dissatisfaction with interaction with students’ parents, the predominance of controlled motivation for work, preference for unconstructive strategies for coping with problematic situations, a feeling of unfulfillment and inability to fully manage one’s life). Conclusions. Psychological, advisory and psychotherapeutic assistance to schoolteachers can be expanded by correcting work motivation, using positive reappraisal and non-confrontation to cope with difficult situations, and teaching effective means of communication with other participants in educational relations.</p>

Prevalence and factors associated with burnout syndrome in Peruvian health professionals before the COVID-19 pandemic: A systematic review

IntroductionBurnout syndrome (BS) is a prevalent occupational health problem in health professionals. To describe the prevalence and factors associated with BS in Peruvian health professionals. MethodA systematic review and meta-analysis were performed. The key terms “burnout” and “professional exhaustion” were used with words related to Peru. The databases consulted were LILACS/Virtual Health Library, Medline/PubMed, Science Direct, EBSCO, Scopus, SciELO, and RENATI-SUNEDU; articles published between January 2000 to December 2020 were considered for inclusion. Methodological quality was evaluated using the Newcastle–Ottawa scale. ResultsThirty studies were identified (8 scientific articles and 22 graduate theses). The median sample size was 78, with an interquartile range of 50–110. A meta-analysis was performed to calculate a dichotomic prevalence of burnout syndrome in health professionals of 25 % (95%CI: 9 %–45 %; I2 = 97.14 %; 5 studies). Also, our meta-analysis estimated the overall prevalence of mild burnout (27 %; 95%CI: 16%–41 %; I2 = 96.50 %), moderate burnout (48 %; 95%CI: 32%–65 %; I2 = 97.54 %), and severe burnout (17 %; 95%CI: 10%–24 %; I2 = 92.13 %; 18 studies). We present meta-analyses by region, profession, hospital area, and by dimension of the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Overall, the studies presented adequate levels of quality in 96.7 % of the included studies (n = 29). In addition, our narrative review of factors associated with BS and its three dimensions identified that different studies find associations with labor, socio-demographic, individual, and out-of-work factors. ConclusionsThere is a higher prevalence of moderate BS in Peruvian health professionals at MINSA and EsSalud hospitals in Peru, with severity differing by region of Peru, type of profession, work area, and dimensions of BS.

The Relationship between Professional Variables and Burnout Syndrome in Brazilian Dentists during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Burnout syndrome (BS) is a highly prevalent occupational disease among dentists who, during the COVID-19 pandemic, have been at greater risk of contracting the disease, generating stress and distancing. The aim of this study was to assess the association of social conditions, professional factors and perceptions of COVID-19 with Burnout Syndrome. This was a cross-sectional study of 302 Brazilian dentists working in the clinical and private sectors. The professionals completed the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory online and answered sociodemographic and professional questions and questions related to their perception of the pandemic. Poisson regression with unadjusted and adjusted robust variance was used to estimate the association between burnout syndrome (dependent variable) and the independent variables. The presence of BS was strongly associated with age, training in a private institution, professionals who claimed to have sufficient protective knowledge and fear of being contaminated by SARS-CoV-2 during patient care (p < 0.05). The findings of this study show that there has been an impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the occurrence of Burnout syndrome in dentists, especially, those who worked in the public sector and those who were afraid to work with other health professionals.

Impact of Burnout on Anaesthesiologists.

Professional burnout syndrome (PBS) is an issue affecting individuals and organizations alike, characterized by emotional exhaustion and reduced effectiveness resulting from overwhelming work demands. Root causes include excessive workload, unrealistic expectations, and blurred work-life boundaries, which are often intensified by organizational culture and inadequate support systems. The consequences range from decreased productivity and creativity to high turnover rates and financial strain on organizations. Mitigating PBS requires a comprehensive approach that addresses both individual and organizational levels. Individually, stress management techniques and self-care practices are crucial for building resilience and coping with work-related stressors. Organizations play a vital role in promoting employee well-being by fostering a supportive work environment, promoting work-life balance and providing access to support systems such as counseling and mentorship programs. Leadership is key in creating a culture that values employee health and prioritizes open communication and empathy. Policy interventions can further support efforts to combat PBS by enforcing labor laws that protect employee rights, such as setting limits on working hours and ensuring access to mental health services. Additionally, incentivise organizations to prioritize employee well-being through tax incentives or certification programs can encourage proactive measures against burnout. The aim of this review is to provide a comprehensive exploration of PBS, examining its causes, consequences, and potential mitigation strategies in individuals and organizations, with a focus on anaesthesiology.

Working conditions and health status of school workers (literature review)

In recent years, the range of publications concerning the high likelihood of teachers developing syndromes of professional burnout and professional destruction has been increasingly expanding. This trend is almost equally characteristic of most countries over the world: from Great Britain, Germany, and Scandinavia in Europe to China, Japan in Asia and Nigeria in Africa, and, over the last decade, in Russia. In other words, the problem under consideration is global in nature and depends little on the level of economic development of the country and its ethno-geographical characteristics.&#x0D; Purpose of work. Study foreign and domestic scientific literature directly related to the problems of creating working conditions and their impact on the health in education workers.&#x0D; The presented review is based on the publications of a number of domestic and foreign studies. The literature search was carried out using the databases Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science, MedLine, RSCI. A total of forty two publications were analyzed for the period from 2001 to 2022. &#x0D; A systematic analysis of the world scientific literature was conducted on the management of events aimed at assessing the working conditions and health in teachers. The study examined various aspects related to the provision of medical care to education workers.&#x0D; After evaluating the results of the study, it became clear that there is some discrepancy between reports in the field of psychology and hygiene. In the first group of works devoted to the psychological aspect, insufficient attention is paid to the study of working conditions and their impact on the health of teachers, despite the widespread prevalence of professional burnout syndrome among the teaching community. At the same time, in the second group of studies devoted to hygienic aspects, the role of psychosocial factors influencing the health of teachers is not sufficiently addressed.&#x0D; Conclusion. In general, the analysis of the characteristics of working conditions and health of pedagogical workers allows concluding this topic to be relevant and in demand in the scientific world. It also highlights the need for further research and development in this area to improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of related diseases.

The Problem of Professional Burnout among Workers of Social and Pedagogical Sphere in the Conditions of Implementation of Information and Communication Strategy of Education

The article presents a theoretical analysis of the problem of professional burnout among social workers in the postmodern society. The concept of the “emotional burnout” and the “professional burnout” is generalized as a common state of exhaustion in the physical and mental sense, which is caused by intense and steady stress. It is noted that burnout syndrome manifests itself in a depressed state, accompanied by feelings of fatigue and devastation, feeling of futility of his professional activity, rejection of activity both professional and domestic. To achieve the goal, a general scientific method of theoretical analysis of philosophical, sociological, psychological and pedagogical scientific literature was used in the study. The realities and prospects of implementation of strategic objectives of the Communication Strategy of the Ministry of Education and Science for 2023-2030 (On approval of the Communication Strategy of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for 2023-2030, 2022) were substantiated, which should undoubtedly correlate with the effectiveness of the work of a socio-pedagogical worker, to prevent the strengthening of the trend of professional burnout, in particular: the formation and implementation of public policy to ensure decent working conditions of the specialist of socio-pedagogical sphere to ensure the sustainable functioning of the areas of education and social work during wartime; implementation of updated digital educational environment; development of digital competencies to ensure stable communication in the context of socio-pedagogical interaction. In the context of the theoretical study of professional burnout among social workers, causing a syndrome of professional burnout. It is expressed in a reduction to a minimum of self-control, rejection of oneself as a professional, dysfunctional dynamics of the workplace, extreme activity, degradation in social and personal communication, feeling of loneliness both at work and outside of it. The analysis of methods of professional burnout is presented and the diagnosis of professional burnout among social workers is considered: the methodology of Agapova (2004) (based on the diagnosis of emotional burnout level according to Boyko) (enables systemic and detail analysis of the degree of severity of twelve symptoms of burnout syndrome, taking into account the components that they relate to); the methodology “Psychological burnout” in the work of the system “human – human” (developed by Vodopyanova, Starchenkova, 2008). Guided by the development of K. Maslach and S. Jackson, it allows to investigate the main components of a psychological burnout syndrome, such as: exhaustion emotionally, loss of personality, leveling of professional abilities.

Occupational burnout syndrome in physical therapists before and during covid 19: A systematic review

Introduction: The emergence of COVID-19, a viral pandemic, has significantly affected people at , many levels of their lives and especially their psychological state, an important factor in the emergence of Occupational Burnout Syndrome. Burnout syndrome in healthcare professionals is a global issue that affects both their health and performance and therefore the effective exercise of their function. Purpose: The purpose of this research is to analyze the occurrence rate of Occupational Burnout Syndrome (OBS) in physical therapists before and during the onset of COVID-19 and their comparison. Method: The international databases PubMed and Google scholar were searched in the English language with keywords “burnout syndrome AND physiotherapist AND COVID-19”. The article search was performed from October 2022 to December 2022. 11 open access journal research articles published from 2017 to 2022 were selected. The data collected were presented in the form of texts and tables using of Excel. Results: Eleven clinical studies were included in this review that applied a total of 1750 physical therapists. Of this sample, 861 were physical therapists in clinical studies conducted before COVID-19, while the remaining 889 were physical therapists in clinical studies that took into account the existence of COVID-19. It was observed that the rate of change in occurrence of SEE was 31.18%, with the SEE rate being increased in the second sample mentioned above. Conclusions: No other systematic review comparing specific data between physical therapists has been observed. However, since the clinical studies used for the period after the onset of COVID-19 are numerically fewer compared to those before the outbreak, and because only freely accessible articles were used, we cannot rely exclusively on the results of specific review.

Features of formation and prediction of professional burnout of doctors of surgical specialties

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, medical workers (MW) turned out to be the most vulnerable category of the population at risk of developing psychoemotional disorders.&#x0D; The study aims to establish the characteristics of the state of the psychoemotional sphere in doctors of surgical specialties of COVID-hospitals, multidisciplinary hospitals (MDH) during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as outpatient clinics (OPC).&#x0D; We have examined the following groups of doctors: group 1 consisted of doctors of surgical specialties working in COVID‑hospital (n=61); group 2 consisted of doctors of surgical specialties working in a multidisciplinary hospital (n=58); group 3 consisted of doctors of surgical specialties working in the outpatient clinic (n=55); group 4 — the control group included employees of engineering, technical and economic specialties not related to work in medical organizations (n=190). The authors have evaluated the professional burnout syndrome using a questionnaire on the assessment of professional burnout "Maslach Burnout".&#x0D; The work of doctors of surgical specialties during the COVID-19 pandemic is associated with the impact on medical workers of a number of specific risk factors associated with the provision of medical care to infected patients, as well as with significant changes in work, regarding aspects related to organization, safety, which contribute to increased levels of anxiety, professional burnout, stress.&#x0D; The work of doctors of surgical specialties during the pandemic of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19, compared with doctors of multidisciplinary hospitals and outpatient doctors, is associated with an increase in the level of occupational stress, the level of professional burnout. It is necessary to continue research on the emotional state of medical personnel in order to timely carry out preventive treatment to preserve the health of medical workers.&#x0D; Ethics. The scientists conducted a study within the Framework of the complex topic of the Department of Occupational Diseases and Clinical Pharmacology named after Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation Professor V.V. Kosarev of Samara State Medical University "A systematic approach to early diagnosis, prevention and prediction of the impact of low-intensity production factors on the health of workers" (State registration number AAAA-A18-118122190069-6, registration date applications on 12/21/2018). The study was approved by the local ethics Committee of the Samara State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation on 11/23/2021. Each participant in the study gave informed voluntary written consent to participate in the study and publish personal medical information in an impersonal form in the journal Occupational Medicine and Industrial Ecology.

PROBLEMS OF PROFESSIONAL BURNOUT AMONG LAWYERS

The problem of professional burnout has been in the center of numerous research for the last decades. Their results facilitated diagnosing the causes and consequences of this professional dysphoria. The majority of this research was focused on social occupations connected with intensive contacts with people. However, practicing lawyers who have a lot of social contacts by the nature of service and therefore especially suffer from burnout, have not been studied  fully enough. The relevance of our study of this problem primarily lies in the need of further research of the professional burnout syndrome for its timely prevention and assistance to lawyers.&#x0D; The investigation of the professional burnout syndrome among that category of workers was carried out with the help of the MBI survey to determine the level of  professional burnout according to the methods of Christina Maslach and Susan Jackson in adaptation of Natalia E. Vodopyanova based on the research of  psychologists Charles Figley, Simon Philip Baron-Cohen, as well as Russian scholars. The respondents’ survey  took place in the city of Vologda in February 2023 and the sampling population was more than 500 respondents.&#x0D; As a result the relationship of professional burnout with age and gender was determined. It turned out that working women are more prone to burnout  than men, as they have additional emotional and physical burden connected with family chores. There is a description of depersonalization as a component of emotional burnout: inadequate attitude towards colleagues, irritability, loss of “idealism” and  withdrawal into oneself. At the same time it was revealed that the impact of the psychological state of an individual employee on the whole team is insignificant. Specific recommendations for the prevention of the emotional burnout syndrome are suggested; the impact of professional burnout on the respondents’ general state of health was studied.  Dependency of emotional burnout with empathy and features of the team are revealed. The most efficient ways of emotional burnout syndrome prevention are suggested. The results of the research can be used by psychologists who work with lawyers with emotional burnout symptoms and heads of  organizations.

Doctor-Patient Communication In Clinical Trials With The Usage Of Mobile Technologies

As part of import substitution and the need to take a leading position in the production of medicines in the Russian pharmaceutical industry, clinical trials of drugs using mobile technologies are beginning to be carried out. Technological changes are accompanied by a transformation in the relationship between the doctor and the patient, where the patient becomes an active rather than a passive participant in the process. The key factors in the effectiveness of interaction are trust in the doctor and the degree of satisfaction with the healthcare system. In clinical trials using mobile technologies, the doctor-patient dyad is significantly expanded and includes the staff of the sponsoring organization, researchers who collect information about the participant’s condition using a mobile device, the participant reporting his/her conditions through mobile device, as well as family and medical staff providing additional information about the participant. It is necessary to study the factors of trust to health care provider in non-personal interaction and building the grounds to motivate doctors’ and patients’ usage of mobile technologies. The usage of mobile technologies makes it possible to reduce the “professional burnout syndrome” of health care providers from the repetitive nature of communication and replace it with digital technologies; makes it possible to receive information online and feedback from patients; increases adherence to treatment and adherence to doctor’s recommendations. The benefits of constant contact between the doctor and the patient through mobile technologies will contribute to building more trust in their interaction and increase satisfaction of the population with the quality of medical services. 

ТРЕНИНГ РАЗВИТИЯ САМООБЛАДАНИЯ КАК ЛИЧНОСТНОГО РЕСУРСА ПРЕОДОЛЕНИЯ ПРОФЕССИОНАЛЬНОГО ВЫГОРАНИЯ

The stressfulness of the performance of district police officers causes the occurrence of a syndrome of professional burnout of employees. In this regard, special measures of psychological and pedagogical support for the development of self-control are required as one of the main personal resources for the prevention and overcoming of professional burnout by district police officers. An effective method aimed at developing the self-control of district police officers is a specially organized training designed to promote the psychological recovery of employees and, ultimately, increase satisfaction with their professional activities, increase psychological well-being at work and reduce professional burnout.&#x0D; The article proposes a training program for the development of self-control as a personal resource for overcoming professional burnout.

ПРОФЕССИОНАЛЬНОЕ ВЫГОРАНИЕ СОТРУДНИКОВ ОВД КАК СЛЕДСТВИЕ ПСИХОТРАВМИРУЮЩЕГО ВОЗДЕЙСТВИЯ ПРОФЕССИОНАЛЬНОЙ ДЕЯТЕЛЬНОСТИ: ОСНОВНЫЕ ПРОЯВЛЕНИЯ И СЛЕДСТВИЯ

The article attempts to study the features of the manifestation of professional burnout of police officers and the factors influencing its occurrence and course. Based on the analysis of scientific papers on the problem of burnout, the main directions in the study of this phenomenon, as well as problematic issues that require further research, are identified. Conclusions are drawn about the need for a more detailed study of the determinants of professional burnout, due both to the extreme conditions of the professional activity of the subjects, and their individual characteristics associated with manifestations of neuropsychic stability, adaptive potential and the development of typological personality characteristics. To conduct the study, a set of diagnostic methods was selected and tested, aimed at identifying professional burnout and describing its symptoms, as well as factors influencing the occurrence/absence of burnout in the activities of employees of the organization. The respondents were 80 employees of the internal affairs bodies of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Stavropol Territory. Based on the analysis of the empirical data obtained in the course of the study, conclusions were drawn about the relationship between the manifestation of the syndrome of professional burnout and the individual typological properties of the personality, as well as with the subjects' subjective perception of their professional activity as psychotraumatic, associated both with personal achievements and with opportunities for professional growth and leading to a decrease in adaptive potential and serious personal changes. The results obtained during the study were used to build a program of psychological measures aimed at reducing the level of professional burnout and increasing the adaptive capacity of police officers

Use of the Maslach Burnout Inventory Among Public Health Care Professionals: Scoping Review.

Work can be considered a source of living, well-being, and socioeconomic development. When the work environment negatively influences individuals, it may trigger emotional disturbances, behavioral problems, chronic stress conditions, and illnesses such as burnout syndrome (BS). Recently, studies on BS have increased and placed a special focus on health care professionals. The prevalence of BS among health professionals is associated with their chronic exposure to human hardship and long working hours without proper rest. These factors have contributed to greater stress and high physical and emotional exhaustion levels. This study aims to identify and map studies using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) scale to identify burnout syndrome in health professionals working in public health services. This scoping review was developed based on the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Reviewers Manual and reported according to the PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews). A total of 6 databases were searched to identify relevant studies: Embase, LILACS, MEDLINE or PubMed, PsycInfo, Scopus, and Web of Science. Gray literature was consulted on ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global, Google Scholar, Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, and Open Access Theses and Dissertations. Additionally, the reference lists were searched to retrieve studies not previously selected. The steps followed in this study were proposed by Arskey and O'Malley and Levac, Colquhoun, and O'Brien: identification of research questions, identification of potential studies, study selection, data extraction and imputation, data analyses and interpretation, and consultation with stakeholders. The detailed methodology was published in a protocol. A total of 55 articles were identified after screening for eligibility criteria, published between 1999 and 2021 in 32 countries. Most reports were published in Brazil, Spain, and China. A total of 22 versions of the MBI were identified, presenting different items, scores, and cutoff points. The included studies had recommendations and implications for clinical practice. The consultation with stakeholders allowed knowledge translation for those interested in BS. Studies mostly included physicians (34/55, 61.8%) and nurses (24/55, 43.6%), and the original version of MBI was predominantly used. Divergences in BS classification were highlighted, which may be related to MBI cross-cultural adaptations and applications in other countries. This study contributes to the advancement of research regarding burnout syndrome as an occupational illness since it has harmful consequences for workers, health care services, and the quality of care provided to the population.

ОПЕРАЦИОНАЛИЗАЦИЯ ПРОФЕССИОНАЛЬНОГО ВЫГОРАНИЯ ПЕРСОНАЛА В УСЛОВИЯХ УДАЛЕННОЙ РАБОТЫ И ГИБРИДНОГО ОФИСА

The article presents the results of the author’s research on the risks of staff burnout in a remote and hybrid office. The object of the study is professional burnout in the conditions of remote work and hybrid office. The subject of the study is recommendations for the prevention of professional burnout in conditions of remote work and a hybrid office. The goal is to carry out the operationalization of professional burnout in the conditions of remote work and a hybrid office for the subsequent development of a software application for the prevention of professional burnout. The authors present a theoretical analysis of the problem under study based on the results of modern research. The risks of remote work are identified. The main markers of professional burnout are presented. Several groups of factors are considered, which determine the likelihood of an employee developing a syndrome of professional burnout: socio-demographic, personal, organizational and socio-psychological. To obtain information that a subordinate is prone to burnout, the authors suggest using special techniques. The author’s operationalization of professional burnout is presented. In the author’s operationalization, the authors tried to consider the structural components of professional burnout based on the symptoms, stage of development, and factors on which the likelihood of burnout development depends.

Модель профилактики синдрома профессионального выгорания у педагогических работников

The aim of the study is to develop a holistic methodologically sound model that will allow timely forecasting and managing the process of preventing professional burnout among modern teachers in the context of changing labour activity formats such as online interaction, distant and hybrid learning, emergency self-education and the transition to developing new technologies in digitalizing different aspects of education, etc. Studying the symptoms and phases of school teachers’ professional burnout is carried out, and negative trends associated with a number of factors and causes are identified. The main ones are the following: depersonalization, exhaustion, reduction of professional achievements. The model development is based on a personality-oriented approach and the principles arising from it. The model includes theoretical-target, diagnostic, preventive, reflective-evaluative and advisory blocks. It reflects the relationship of the leading symptoms, phases, causes of burnout with the main areas of preventive work, namely socio-psychological, personal, professional and used technologies. Testing the model shows positive changes in the studied indicators, confirmed by statistically significant differences. This model can be used by school administration staff to predict and manage the process of preventing professional burnout syndrome among teachers.

Professional burnout syndrome among nurses and midwives depending on the place of work

Professional burnout is a common problem occurring among employees whose job is related to other people, and additionally involves providing them with assistance. Therefore, one of such risk groups is the medical personnel, especially nurses and midwives. Scientific research shows that various factors have a different effect on the occurrence of professional burnout. The aim of the study was to review Polish and foreign scientific literature on the syndrome of professional burnout among nurses and midwives. On the basis of the literature review, it has been shown that the occurrence of professional burnout depends not only on education, seniority and salary, but also on human interactions at the workplace, level of social competence, and methods of coping with stress. It would not be possible to identify these factors if it wasn’t for the use of research tools in form of various types of questionnaires, e.g. Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI). It is extremely important to undertake preventive and prophylactic activities to protect the medical personnel against this phenomenon.

Burnout Syndrome in Primary Health Care professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic

Workers in Primary Health Care (PHC) play a key role in coping with COVID-19, which required personal and work-flow changes, causing physical and emotional overload and stress, which could lead to Burnout Syndrome (BS). The objective of this study was to check the prevalence of BS in health professionals working in PHC in the municipality of Curitibanos, state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The research was carried out between November 2020 and May 2021, a sociodemographic questionnaire, and the Brazilian version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory - Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS), which contains 22 questions and three dimensions - Emotional Exhaustion (EE), Depersonalization (DP) and Personal Fulfillment (PF), were applied. Data were collected and analyzed descriptively with subsequent statistical comparison. Participants were50 volunteers aged 40.1 ± 9.5 years, time in the profession of 10.8 ± 7.9 years. Results of the MBI-HSS showed the prevalence of risk was moderate for EE and high for DP and PF. However, no significant difference was detected between the MBI-HSS dimensions and sociodemographic variables. In conclusion, the prevalence of risk was 17.6+11.4 points in EE (moderate); 6.6+5.0 points in DP (moderate) and 36.8+6.6 points in RP (high), indicating that the evaluated population already demands some need for contingency or preventive care because it has a clear predisposition to BS. However, there was no statistical association with sociodemographic variables.

SINDROM PROFESIONALNOG SAGOREVANJA KOD SOCIJALNIH RADNIKA I ZNAČAJ MENTALNOG ZDRAVLJA POMAGAČA

This paper deals with the problem of professional burnout syndrome among social workers, the factors that contribute to the occurrence of this phenomenon and the importance of prevention and care for the mental health of professional helpers. In addition to the theoretical analysis of this phenomena and risk factors associated with the nature of the social worker’s professional role, the paper also presents the results of research on the existence of professional burnout syndrome among social workers on the territory of Serbia. The presence of parameters that indicate the occurrence of burnout syndrome among professional workers within the social protection system was established. Elevated levels of stress, tension and emotional exhaustion were noted, as well as the presence of apathy, lack of connection with clients and reduced self-care. Competencies for working with clients and self-image remained preserved. Finally, the paper presents possible ways to prevent the occurrence of burnout syndrome.

Professional burnout syndrome in a group of nursing staff employed in a psychiatric hospital

Nurses are one of the occupational groups most exposed to stress in the health care system. In their daily work, the staff of a psychiatric ward often encounters threats, aggression or unpredictability of patients' behavior. Employees, including nurses, often feel discomfort related to the treatment of patients admitted against their will, the need to use direct coercion. In psychiatry, it is also burdensome to participate in family matters of patients, to solve their problems. The group of factors recognized as stressful and causing psychological burden for nurses includes a large number of patients under their care, their serious condition as well as physical and verbal aggression of the patient and violence. The aim of the study was to present the problem of occupational burnout in a group of nursing staff employed in a psychiatric hospital Material and methods 203 nurses participated in the study. The research tool was a proprietary questionnaire and a standardized tool, the Ch. Maslach. The level of statistical significance in this study was p&lt;0.05. Results The average occupational burnout rate was 34.9% ± 20.9%. Emotional exhaustion was assessed at 32.5% ± 28.5%, the level of depersonalization at 23.1% ± 26.1%. The main motivators in the work of nurses are earnings (57.3%), willingness to help others (54.4%) and a good atmosphere at work (35%). Conclusions: Mental burden in the work of a psychiatric nurse results in the development of occupational stress leading to occupational burnout. Actions are recommended to counteract the professional burnout syndrome
